The passive drainage system is not designed to keep the water out, but to let it flow in and out of the boot as needed.

So far so good I’ve had the boot for only a day and it is breaking in very nicely took it out through a creak with full kit and submerged myself waste deep the boot had emptied all water contents from it filling up with water within about 10 paces. The inner sole was dry within about 15 minutes and the remainder of the boot dried in an hour this is with decent summer weather of course , very silent step and lacing system, every step in the boot felt very deliberate which will give you great footing on those long late night patrols. So far very impressed with the boot sizing was accurate which is another plus so far the ankle support feels rather decent haven’t loaded anything over 40 lbs on my back with it however I imagine with the more weight your ankle would start feel a little discomfort that being said a little bit of medical tape around the ankle and I’m sure you would be good to go. Would not recommend for winter warfare as I would advice a more artic warfare style boot for those kinds of operations. Great help from the dudes at milbrook tactical with picking these out highly recommend this product to any infantry soldier or assulter out there.
